TACKLING POLYCRISIS THROUGH PARTNERSHIP
I am Pradip Paudel, a Member of Parliament.
Nepal has undergone a significant political transformation since the establishment of democracy in 1951 through the Nepali Congress-led democratic movement and several mass movements in between, culminating in the establishment of a democratic republic in 2008. Following the transformation, we now have many issues to address to realize the benefits of this change. Key agendas such as underdevelopment, political instability, environmental crises, and corruption are our top priorities to focus on.
The fast-changing world has also created several other areas where today’s politicians should focus their attention. Non-traditional Security, Artificial Intelligence, the Gig Economy, Digital Infrastructure, and the Digital Divide are among the crucial areas that require attention. As an MP, I am fully committed to working in partnership with the public, civic societies, government institutions, and regional and global stakeholders to find better and sustainable solutions together.
For me, an effective approach to combat the challenges is through policy-making with a proper political culture, including good governance, foresightedness, and responsibility. My extensive socio-political career and commitments have encouraged me to take responsibility for building a better future through powerful interventions in policy-making.
